Welcome to My Blog!

Hi there! I’m Rachelle (pronounced Rachel), and I’m so glad you’re here. My goal with this blog is to help you find a little more calm in the chaos through practical tips, honest reflections, and encouragement from someone who’s walked through the clutter—both physically and emotionally.
Since this is my first post, I’d love to share a bit about myself:
I grew up just across the river in Council Bluffs, IA. I had a happy childhood overall, but like most people, it came with its share of chaos. Maybe organizing was my way of coping, or perhaps I was just born this way—but I’ve always been a bit of an organization freak. When I was 11, we took a family trip to Colorado. I made a packing list that included every outfit, piece of jewelry, and hair accessory for each day. I kept that list in a little file folder; it helped me feel prepared and in control. A few years and many more packing lists later, I realized what I really needed was a file cabinet. So at 14, I put one on my Christmas list. It took me until I was 32 to realize organizing was more than a personality quirk—it was a superpower I could actually use to help others.
At 18, I moved to Southern California to attend a performing arts school and joined The Young Americans, a traveling group that worked with kids ages 8–18. We taught singing and dancing, built self-confidence, and helped support music programs in schools. It was an incredible experience, and I still use the communication and leadership skills I learned there every day. In 2010, I returned to Omaha and worked with my dad doing interior painting. I’m grateful for the hands-on experience and the time we shared. In 2012, I started a new chapter at First National Bank of Omaha, where I stayed for ten years. Every position I held there taught me something—about structure, systems, and how to make things run more smoothly.
In 2022, I finally launched Re-Kempt, my home organizing business. I bring together the best of both worlds: a strong understanding of structure and regulation, paired with a creative, whimsical heart. I genuinely love organizing paper files—and if there’s a craft room that needs sorting, you’ll have a hard time keeping me away. I lead with balance, intention, and patience. My top values are Openness and Connection, and they show up in everything I do. When you work with me, you’ll never need to worry about judgment. I believe we’re all here to learn from one another, and I always strive to be curious, kind, and calm.
During our free one-hour consultation, I’ll walk you through my process: how I’d break down your project, how long it might take, and how we can tailor the space to support your daily life. I’ll ask questions about how you and your family function, what’s worked in the past, and what hasn’t. From there, I reimagine your space in a way that saves you time, energy, and money. You can choose how involved you want to be—I can manage the entire project independently and check in as needed, or we can work side by side so you can gain some organizing skills along the way. Either way, the process will be thoughtful, empowering, and completely customized to you.
Organizing is truly my superpower. I’m so excited to use it to support you. Thanks for stopping by! Be sure to check back for tips, tricks, and a few honest ramblings from the journey.
Sending peace, love, and acceptance to you all!
